Inkosi Prefab Developments (Pty) Ltd has a solid track record in providing low-cost residences, offices, pack houses, classrooms and storage rooms to its sister company, Alaska Greenhouses (Pty) Ltd, as components of their multi-tunnel greenhouse facilities.

The appeal these structures have for clients in the agricultural sector has led us to redesign them into classrooms for schools in both urban and rural areas, as well as into low cost housing units.

The INKOSI IKhaya is a uniquely designed steel unit which comes in three standard sizes, either with or without a patio, an upstairs area - used for either storage or as a sleeping area and the possibility of additional arches, effecting in a longer building and therefore more square meters. However due to the unique design the addition of arches will effect in a longer building and therefore more square meters. The Inkosi IKhaya provides a wide range of options for low cost housing as well as uses such as home office space, extra garage for car and motorbikes/quad bikes, playhouse for children, tented camps, etc. These units come either in a Do-It-Yourself kit or are pre-assemble. The DIY kit comes packed in a box with easy to assemble instructions.

In April 2007 Inkosi Prefab Developments (Pty) Ltd donated a classroom to Sunward Park High in Boksburg and has recently manufactured numerous IKhaya units to house Aids orphans in the Limpopo area. In the future we aim to create many job opportunities for the local communities not only during the construction phases but as well as job creation in the long term for maintenance aspects.
